Most of our hunting and firearms courses take place in Georgetown (GTA). Read on to learn about the different courses available to acquire firearms and hunt in Ontario.

Time Commitment for Courses

Non-Restricted PAL Course

The non-restricted course runs on Saturdays from 8am to approx. 6pm. This is a 1 day course. Learn more information about this course on our non-restricted firearms training page.

Restricted PAL Course

The restricted course happens on a Sunday from 8 am to  5pm. This is a 1-day 4 hour course for those who have taken the non-restricted course and test within the past 30 days. If you need this course and your non-restricted course was longer than 30 days, you will require the full 6 hour course. Hunter Education Course

The hunting course will start on a Friday evening at 6 pm and end at 10 pm. It will then be concluded the following day (Saturday) from 8 am to 4 pm. This is a 1½ day course. Learn more information about this course on our hunter education training page.

Wilderness Handgun Training

The Wilderness handgun course is no longer required by the CFO.  For ATT information please contact the CFO at 1800-731-4000.

Other Particulars

Food/Beverages

Coffee and bottled water is provided at no charge. Please feel free to bring a lunch. There is a fridge to place food items in if needed. Or you can find local shops in Georgetown or Acton to pick up some food items during the lunch break. Microwaves are available.

NOTES:

One piece of Photo ID is required for presentation at the start of the course.

Course availability can only be guaranteed when payment is received in full, as space is limited. Course participation is determined on a first come first serve basis.
